Good to know
Before you start
Measure twice
Measure each wall or floor in metres to the nearest centimetre and note doors and windows. A rough sketch with sizes saves a second trip.
Buy from one batch
Tiles, wallpaper and paint can vary slightly between batches. Buy everything at once, check the batch numbers match and keep a spare for repairs.
Allow for waste
Cuts and breakages use more than you'd think: about 10% for tiles and flooring, more for diagonal patterns. The calculators add this for you.
