What the tools do with what you enter

Every calculation happens in your own browser. The numbers you type into a tool (appliance wattage, room size, electricity price and so on) are never sent to us or stored by us. Closing or reloading the page clears them.

• Copy Summary copies your result to your device’s clipboard. Nothing is sent to us.
• Export CSV creates a file on your device. Nothing is sent to us.
• Print uses your browser’s own print function.

Information our web server records

Like almost every website, the server that delivers HomeSums automatically records basic technical information when a page or an embedded tool is loaded: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, your browser and device type, and the page you came from.

• Why: to deliver the website, keep it secure and fix errors.
• Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
• How long: these logs are kept by our hosting provider for 30 days and then deleted.

We do not use this information to identify you, build a profile of you, or show you advertising.

Cookies and similar technologies

HomeSums does not set cookies for visitors and does not store anything in your browser. That is why there is no cookie banner. WordPress sets essential login cookies only for site administrators who sign in.

If we ever add cookies that are not strictly necessary, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.

Fonts and other outside services

All fonts, scripts and images are delivered from our own server. Viewing HomeSums does not send your information to Google or any other outside service.

If you email us

If you contact us by email, we use your email address and message only to reply to you, and keep them only as long as needed to deal with your message. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering you, or taking steps you asked for (Article 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).

Who we share data with

Our hosting provider, Hostinger (KZN Limited, Cyprus), stores the website and its server logs on our behalf as a data processor, on servers in Germany. We do not sell or share your data with anyone else.

Embedded tools

Other websites can embed HomeSums tools. When you view a HomeSums tool on another website, it is loaded from our server, so the server log information above is recorded. The other website’s own privacy policy covers everything else on that page.

Links to other websites

HomeSums may link to other websites, including product pages. Those websites have their own privacy policies. If we add affiliate links in future, we will say so clearly and update this policy before they go live.

Your rights

You have the right to access your personal data, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to how it is used, and receive a copy of it in a portable format. To use any of these rights, email doyoursums@homesums.com. We will reply within one month.

If you think we have not handled your data properly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos) at www.aepd.es.

Children

HomeSums is meant for adults and is not aimed at children under 14.

If we change how HomeSums handles data, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date at the top.
